The most common fish found in this lake is tilapia but the lake contains about six species of fish. During these Uganda safari tours, one feels part of nature because even the shy elands come close to you.</p><p>Lake Mburo horseback safaris are operated by Mihingo lodge in the east of the park. Rides are tailored to individual experience and requirements.</p><p>Kids can be led on good-natured ponies while at the other extreme experienced riders can help a couple of retired racehorses burn off some calories.</p><p>The maximum weight that you can be to ride a horse is 100 kg, but most of the horses cannot carry more than 85kg. All rides are accompanied by at least one experienced horse guide, but in most cases, 2 guides are accompanying each ride.</p><h3><strong>Horseback Safari Fees In</strong> <strong>Lake Mburo National Park </strong></h3><p>Rates for the day range from US$40/60 per person for a 30 to 60-minute taster in the grassy valley floor below the lodge, an area habitually filled with game, to US$240 for a half-day excursion to various hilltop viewpoints with a picnic breakfast.</p><p>If you stay at Mihingo lodge you will be given a substantial discount of US$25/40 for 30/60mins or US$150 for half day. The Lakeside Track The Lake side track allows you to explore the water environment featuring the water flora and fauna.</p><p>The range of water birds dwelling in the water logged areas and swamps that surround Lake Mburo can be seen long this track not forgetting the swamp dwelling animals like the Sitatunga.</p><p>Game drives are best done in the morning and in the evening and tend to last 3 – 4 hours. Near the rest camp, the hilltop Interpretation Centre is derelict but a good viewpoint, while the road to the jetty is a good place to walk, being rich in birds and regularly visited by hippos.</p><p>An even better target is a viewing platform that overlooks a <strong>salt-lick</strong> about 2 kilometers from the camp, an excellent place to see a wide variety of animals.</p><p>Of particular interest to hikers and birders is <strong>Rubanga forest</strong>, which lies off the Rwizi track and can be visited with the permission of the warden, who will provide you with an armed ranger.</p><p>The walks begin early in the morning at around 6:30 am.
